I constantly think about the function of photography, its presence as a sign, as representation, as constructed consciousness. In this work, I redefined the image by putting a title to it and removed all its indexicality, demolishing that embedded feature of photography. The photographs here are no longer iconic and representational. I lead audience to question about the truthfulness of the image and the title. With my signature on the image, I also discuss the topic of authorship in contemporary art world. By looking at the pixelated image, it's about how audience turn perception into recognition. Through the process of coding and decoding, the meaning of artwork is constructed both by the author and the audience.
